Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has launched a series of landmark infrastructure projects at Kagumo Teachers College, marking a new chapter in the institution’s growth and student welfare.

Speaking during the 41st graduation ceremony, CS Wahome presided over the launch of a modern Student Centre, a 680-bed hostel, and the completion of a multipurpose hall key upgrades designed to enhance the learning environment and promote academic excellence.

She noted that the new hostel will provide safe and affordable accommodation for students, addressing long-standing housing shortages that have affected many learners.

CS Wahome underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening teacher training institutions as part of its broader education reform agenda, saying investment in teacher education directly shapes the future of the nation.

“When we support our trainee teachers, we support the future of our classrooms and our nation,” she said.

The projects are expected to make Kagumo a model institution for teacher education and a hub for nurturing skilled educators across Kenya.
