A family in Juja is celebrating the safe return of their 14-year-old daughter, Daisy Wanjiku, who had been missing for four months.
Daisy, a Form One student at Kahuhia Girls High School in Murang’a County, had disappeared from her home in Mugutha Estate on May 13.
On Monday, Daisy called her mother, informing her that she was on her way home. The family was overjoyed at her safe return. Daisy’s mother expressed her gratitude to God for bringing her daughter back unharmed.
Though Daisy declined to discuss the circumstances of her disappearance, she apologized to her parents for the distress she had caused and expressed her readiness to return to school.
Her father, Charles Githaiga, a pastor and farmer, compared his daughter’s situation to the biblical Prodigal Son. He emphasized the importance of showing love and support to children who may stray from home.
The family expressed their relief and gratitude, having endured immense emotional turmoil during Daisy’s absence. They vowed to support her in completing her education and achieving her goal of becoming a doctor.
