The family of Conrad Nyabuto, who alleges that his estranged girlfriend, Salome Wanjiru, stabbed him to death, is demanding justice for their son. The tragic incident occurred on December 17 in the Kamakis area of Ruiru, where Conrad reportedly succumbed to 27 stab wounds inflicted by Wanjiru.
Residing in Nairobi’s Saika Estate, the grieving family insists that authorities have made little progress in holding the suspect accountable despite compelling evidence. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, January 15, Conrad’s father expressed frustration over the slow pace of justice.
“He went in a very painful way. Twenty-seven stab wounds is not self-defense. That is like you are killing a very dangerous wild animal. We have been trying to cope, but it has not been easy,” Conrad’s father lamented.
The family revealed that Conrad visited Wanjiru that night to resolve issues in their strained relationship. However, the late-night meeting turned tragic, prompting a homicide investigation.
Conrad’s father believes the excessive nature of the attack shows Wanjiru’s intent to kill. He also accused influential individuals within the government of interfering with the investigation. “There was reliable information that there are big people in the government who are trying to interfere with the investigation,” he claimed.
Gatongora Police Station in Ruiru received the murder report on December 17, 2024. Police identified Salome Wanjiru as the primary suspect. Authorities scheduled her to take a plea on Thursday at the Thika High Court.
The Nyabuto family continues to call for swift and transparent legal action, urging authorities to deliver justice for their beloved son.
