Four suspects accused of murdering former Kabete MP George Muchai have been ordered to stand trial after the court ruled that the prosecution presented a strong case against them.
In the ruling, the court acquitted three others, Jane Wanjiru alias Shito, Margaret Njeri Wachiuri, and Simon Wambugu Gichaba, citing lack of evidence directly linking them to the 2015 murder.
“I enter a finding of not guilty against the 5th, 6th, and 7th accused persons, and they are hereby acquitted,” the court declared.
The case involves the killing of Muchai and three aides, who were shot dead in Nairobi in what was believed to be a well-planned attack.
The trial will now proceed with the four remaining suspects defending themselves against the charges.
