The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has concluded the training of election clerks ahead of the February 26, 2026 by-elections, signalling readiness as the country heads into the mini polls.
The commission confirmed that the clerks who will oversee voting and tallying processes have taken the Oath of Secrecy, reaffirming their commitment to integrity, impartiality and professionalism throughout the exercise.
IEBC said the final phase of preparations is now complete, with officials fully equipped to conduct the by-elections in line with constitutional and legal requirements. The commission reiterated its pledge to deliver free, fair and credible elections, assuring voters that all systems are in place.
The by-elections will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in four electoral areas across the country.
Voters in Isiolo County will elect a new Member of the National Assembly for Isiolo South Constituency. In Kakamega County, residents of West Kabras Ward in Malava Constituency will choose their Member of the County Assembly.
In Embu County, two MCA positions will be contested in Muminji Ward and Evurore Ward within Mbeere North Constituency.
The commission has urged all eligible voters in the affected areas to turn out and exercise their democratic right peacefully.
