Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka is set to host Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja during the commissioning of a newly constructed administration block at Kiamumbi Police Station, a project aimed at strengthening security infrastructure and improving service delivery in the constituency.
The commissioning ceremony, scheduled for June 17, 2026, marks a significant milestone in efforts to modernise public security facilities within Kiambu Town Constituency through support from the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
According to the MP, the state-of-the-art administration block was constructed to provide a better working environment for police officers while enhancing efficiency in the delivery of security services to residents.
Waithaka said the project reflects his continued commitment to supporting initiatives that improve public services and address the needs of the growing population within Kiambu Town.
The lawmaker noted that security remains a key pillar in economic growth and community development, adding that investment in police infrastructure is essential in ensuring officers have adequate facilities to serve the public effectively.
The commissioning event is expected to bring together security officials, local leaders, residents and other stakeholders from across the constituency.
Residents have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that improved facilities at the station will contribute to better service delivery and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement officers and the community.
The modern administration block is expected to enhance coordination of police operations, improve working conditions for officers and create a more conducive environment for members of the public seeking services at the station.
The project comes at a time when leaders across the country are placing greater emphasis on improving security infrastructure to match increasing population growth and evolving security demands.
For Kiambu Town residents, the commissioning represents another step towards strengthening public institutions and ensuring that government services remain accessible and efficient.
Waithaka has maintained that investing in security infrastructure is an investment in the wellbeing of residents, noting that safer communities create a favourable environment for businesses, education and social development.
The presence of the Inspector General at the event is also expected to highlight the importance of collaboration between national security agencies and local leadership in improving safety and service delivery.
As preparations for the ceremony continue, residents are expected to witness firsthand the results of a project that leaders say will have a lasting impact on security operations within the area.
