The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has confirmed an aircraft incident involving a domestic flight at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), assuring the public that all passengers and crew were safe.
In a statement issued on Monday, KAA Acting Managing Director Mohamud Gedi said the aircraft had arrived from Elwak airstrip in Mandera carrying 50 passengers when it veered off Taxiway Echo shortly after landing.
Gedi noted that emergency response teams were activated immediately in line with established safety procedures, and all occupants were safely accounted for without injuries.
He added that airport operations continued normally, with no disruption to flights or services. KAA said it is working closely with relevant aviation agencies to safely remove the aircraft and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
