Limuru MP John Kiragu Chege on Wednesday met with hundreds of Gen Z youth from across the constituency in a lively engagement session focused on empowerment, skills development and upcoming local projects.
Kiragu updated the young people on ongoing development initiatives, including the soon-to-be-launched Music Production Studio in Tigoni. The facility, located next to the ACC’s office, will offer free access to professional production equipment for budding artists and content creators. The MP said the studio is part of a wider plan to nurture local talent and expand economic opportunities for youth.
During the event, Kiragu also recognized graduands from Phase One of the Limuru Digital Literacy Program. The three-month training culminated in a government-recognized CIDAC exam, equipping successful trainees with skills that can help them pursue online jobs, ICT courses or start digital enterprises. Phase Two of the program is currently underway at the Limuru ICT Hub.
The MP encouraged more youth, women and persons with disabilities to register for the training, noting that digital skills remain essential in today’s job market. He also highlighted the opportunities available at Limuru Technical and Vocational College in Kamandura, where students continue to benefit from NG-CDF bursaries.
Kiragu urged the young people to make positive choices, avoid drug and substance abuse, and pursue their dreams with confidence. He emphasized the importance of self-belief and discipline, saying these values form the foundation of stable and successful lives.
The youth in attendance expressed appreciation for the MP’s efforts and asked him to continue strengthening collaborations with the national government to benefit Limuru residents.
Kiragu also called on residents to turn up in large numbers on 28th November 2025 at Kamandura to welcome President William Ruto, who is expected to launch the construction of the Kamandura–Mau Summit road network.
The engagement was attended by several leaders, including Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a, Kiambaa MP Njuguna Kawanjiku, Ruiru MP Simon King’ara, Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia, Kabete MP Githua Macukuru and Nominated MCA Pacifica Ongecha.
