Ruiru MP Simon King’ara on Wednesday hosted Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba during his early-morning visit to the constituency to oversee the administration of national examinations. The CS opened the exam container before touring local centres to assess the progress of the ongoing KCSE papers.

During the visit, CS Ogamba pledged significant government investment to ease congestion in Ruiru schools, acknowledging the strain caused by the area’s rapid population growth. He assured residents that the Ministry of Education will support the construction of additional classrooms and fast-track the deployment of more teachers to improve learning outcomes.

King’ara welcomed the announcement, saying the pledge addresses long-standing concerns raised by parents and teachers who have been grappling with overcrowded facilities. He noted that Ruiru remains one of the fastest-growing constituencies in the country, creating urgent demand for enhanced school infrastructure.

The MP expressed confidence that the government’s commitment will transform the education environment and give learners a fairer opportunity to excel. The tour marked a collaborative effort between national and constituency leadership to strengthen the education sector ahead of the next academic cycle
