Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has expressed appreciation after being nominated for the BOBEA Leadership Awards in the category of Best Performing Governor, describing the recognition as a reflection of collective effort by residents and county leadership.
Kimani Wamatangi noted that the nomination is not a personal achievement alone, but a result of what he termed as strong collaboration between the county government and the people of Kiambu. He said the progress made in key sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure development, and service delivery has been driven by shared commitment to improving livelihoods across the county.
In his statement shared on social media, the governor thanked residents, partners, and stakeholders who have supported ongoing development initiatives, saying their trust has played a key role in advancing service delivery. He emphasized that leadership is a continuous journey that requires unity, accountability, and consistent engagement with citizens.
The governor further used the opportunity to encourage residents and supporters to participate in the voting process for the awards, urging them to rally behind his nomination. He said the recognition serves as motivation to continue focusing on development priorities aimed at transforming Kiambu County into a more prosperous region.
According to Wamatangi, his administration remains committed to strengthening systems in health facilities, improving access to education, supporting farmers through agricultural programs, and upgrading infrastructure to boost economic growth. He added that the county government is also focused on enhancing efficiency in public service delivery to ensure residents receive timely and quality services.
The BOBEA Leadership Awards are designed to recognize leaders who have demonstrated impact and excellence in public service delivery and governance. The nomination of the Kiambu governor places him among regional leaders being considered for the annual recognition.
Wamatangi reiterated his gratitude to the people of Kiambu, stating that their continued support has been central to the progress achieved so far. He assured residents that his administration will remain focused on delivering its mandate and ensuring that development projects benefit all wards across the county.
He also called for sustained cooperation between the county government and residents, saying that development can only be achieved through partnership and shared responsibility.
As the voting period continues, attention now shifts to how residents and supporters will respond to the call to back the nomination, which has already sparked discussions across the county’s political and development circles. The voting exercise is expected to continue over the coming days as stakeholders monitor participation levels.
