Kiambu County’s agricultural development efforts have earned praise from a visiting World Bank delegation following an assessment tour of ongoing projects funded through the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP).

The delegation, led by Africa Group 1 Executive Director Zarau Wendeline Kibwe, visited Limuru Subcounty on Monday to evaluate the progress and impact of the initiatives. Their first stop was Charo Farm, where Kibwe interacted with farmers and reviewed improvements supported under the World Bank program.

The team later toured the Limuru Dairy Cooperative, where beneficiaries showcased their achievements in an elaborate exhibition highlighting gains made in milk production, value addition, and cooperative growth.

Kibwe commended Kiambu County for putting development resources to effective use, noting that the projects were clearly improving livelihoods and creating value for local communities.

He was accompanied by Advisor to the Executive Director Josef Halwood and Dr. Samuel Guto.

From Kiambu County, the tour included Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation and Cooperatives CECM Joan Kathambi Nabea, the NAVCDP County Project Coordinator, and other county officials, who reaffirmed the county’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting farmer groups.
