The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has seized Ksh3 million worth of narcotics in a daylight raid in Kimbo, Juja, Kiambu County. The operation, carried out jointly with the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and National Police Service (NPS), targeted a notorious backstreet drug hub.
A well-known dealer was arrested while his accomplice fled and remains under pursuit. Officers recovered over 4,800 neatly rolled cannabis sticks, 75 sealed sachets, and transaction records pointing to a structured distribution network.
NACADA CEO Dr. Anthony Omerikwa described the haul as evidence of sophisticated criminal operations and vowed to intensify festive season crackdowns. He urged citizens to report suspicious activities via the toll-free hotline 1192 to help dismantle networks poisoning communities.
The arrested suspect is set to appear in court on Monday on drug trafficking charges, as investigations continue to trace the wider supply chain. The Juja raid follows a similar multi-agency operation in Narok County targeting counterfeit alcohol worth Ksh3 million.
