The Kiambu County Assembly on Wednesday hosted a delegation from the Kitui County Assembly for a peer-learning engagement aimed at strengthening parliamentary and legislative practices.
The visiting team, led by Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kelvin Kinengo Katisya, was received at the Assembly offices in Kiambu, where discussions centred on legislative efficiency, oversight, and the role of county assemblies in driving development.
Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Wakili Charles Thiongo said the engagement provided an opportunity to share experiences and best practices, noting that the Assembly has passed progressive legislation supporting development across key sectors.
The Kitui delegation commended Kiambu’s Assembly for its legislative contribution to transformative projects, including ECDE centres, health facilities, markets, and other devolved services. Speaker Thiongo reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to concluding pending legislative proposals to ensure improved service delivery for residents.
