Safaricom PLC has announced an interim dividend of Ksh0.85 per ordinary share for the financial year ending March 31, 2026, signalling strong performance and sustained shareholder returns.
In a statement issued after a board meeting held on February 4, the telecommunications firm said the dividend will be paid to shareholders listed on its register as of the close of business on February 25, 2026. Payments are expected on or about March 31, 2026.
The announcement, approved under Capital Markets Authority regulations, was signed by Company Secretary Linda Wambani on February 5. Safaricom said the decision followed standard board procedures and regulatory compliance.
The interim dividend represents a 54.5 per cent year-on-year increase, reflecting a robust half-year performance. In results released in November 2025, Safaricom reported strong growth driven by mobile money and data services, alongside improved cost management.
Following the announcement, Safaricom shares crossed the Ksh30 mark, closing at Ksh30.60, underlining growing investor confidence in the company’s outlook.
