Over a hundred young people in Kiambu County are set to benefit from a ten-day intensive training program in digital skills, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship.
The training, which kicked off today at Ndumberi Stadium, is a collaborative effort between the County Government’s Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Huawei Technologies Kenya, and Computers for Schools Kenya.
The initiative aims to equip the youth with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age. Participants will be exposed to a wide range of digital marketing strategies, tools, and platforms to enable them to secure online jobs and potentially start their own businesses.
Speaking during the launch, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Youth Affairs, Sports, and Communication, Ali Osman, emphasized the importance of digital literacy for the youth.
He noted that the training is in line with the county government’s commitment to empowering young people to become self-reliant and contribute to the county’s economic growth.
The training is expected to cover a wide range of topics, including social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), content creation, e-commerce, and digital entrepreneurship. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the latest digital trends and technologies.
