Limuru Golf Course to Host Kenya Society for the Blind Golf Tournament

Limuru Golf Course will be the stage for the Kenya Society for the Blind Golf Tournament on August 16, 2024. The event aims to raise crucial funds to expand educational opportunities for the blind and visually impaired.

Over 100 top amateur golfers are expected to participate in the tournament, showcasing their skills while contributing to a worthy cause. The day-long event will feature a competitive atmosphere and various prizes, including awards for the longest drive, best nine, and overall winner.

“We are honored to host this tournament and support the Kenya Society for the Blind,” said James Githinji, Captain of Limuru Country Club. “Golf is a sport for everyone, and we believe in creating inclusive spaces for people of all abilities.”

Samson Waweru, Executive Director of the Kenya Society for the Blind, expressed gratitude for the support. “This tournament is more than just a golf competition; it’s a platform to raise awareness and funds for our cause. We aim to expand educational opportunities for the blind and visually impaired, and this event is a significant step forward,” he said.

The tournament has garnered support from various sponsors, including the Kenya National Highways Authority, KCB, United Bank for Africa, College of Ophthalmology of Eastern Central and Southern Africa (COESCA), Rupa’s, and CPF.

Established in 1956, the Kenya Society for the Blind is a dedicated organization committed to serving Kenyans at risk of blindness and those living with visual impairments.
