Ndumberi Primary School undergoes major renovation boost

Kiambu Town MP, Hon. Machua Waithaka, has overseen a major transformation at Ndumberi Primary School, delivering modern facilities and enhanced security to support quality learning. The upgrades, part of the MP’s commitment to improving education infrastructure, include fully renovated classrooms, a state-of-the-art Junior Secondary School (JSS) laboratory, and improved school grounds.

“The aim is to provide learners with a conducive environment where they can thrive academically and safely,” said Waithaka. “We are focused on every detail, from modern learning spaces to secure boundaries and proper pathways, to ensure the school meets the highest standards.”

The renovation project involved tiling all classrooms, constructing a fully equipped JSS laboratory, and building a robust perimeter wall with a modern gate. These measures not only enhance security for the students and staff but also signal a commitment to long-term development and protection of public school infrastructure.

In addition, cabro works are being installed across the school compound, ensuring smoother movement within the school and cleaner, more accessible grounds. This initiative is expected to reduce dust, improve drainage, and make the environment safer for learners during both wet and dry seasons.

Local teachers and parents have welcomed the improvements, noting that the changes will positively impact students’ learning experience. “The new facilities will motivate children to engage more in their studies, and the lab will give them hands-on science learning,” said one parent.

The MP emphasized that the project aligns with broader efforts to transform public schools in Kiambu County, ensuring learners from all backgrounds have access to quality education. He added that community support and feedback have been central to planning and implementing the project, creating a sense of ownership among residents.

“These incremental improvements classrooms, labs, security, and compound works reflect a step-by-step approach to building a model school in Kiambu Town. Our focus is not just on buildings but on shaping future-ready learners,” Waithaka said.

With the final cabro works nearing completion, Ndumberi Primary School is set to serve as a benchmark for public school renovations in the region, combining modern infrastructure, safety, and functionality to enhance education outcomes.
