Karai Police Station receives chairs from Premier Credit

Karai Police Station in Kikuyu, Kiambu County, has received a boost after Premier Credit Limited donated office chairs to support operations and improve working conditions for officers.

The donation, comprising 15 office chairs, was handed over during a courtesy visit by officials from the financial institution, in what was described as a gesture aimed at addressing practical needs within the station.

The team from Premier Credit was led by Joseph Wangunyo, Manager in charge of Micro Finance, alongside Kikuyu Branch Manager Gladys Nyaboke. They said the support forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and strengthening public institutions.

Speaking during the visit, the officials noted that small but impactful contributions can play a significant role in improving service delivery by equipping officers with better working environments.

“This is a simple gesture, but one that we believe will make a difference in supporting those who serve the community every day,” said Wangunyo.

The event was attended by Kikuyu Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Ndege, as well as members of the Karai Ward Security Team, who welcomed the donation and acknowledged its value in enhancing day-to-day operations.

Police officers at the station said the additional furniture will improve efficiency and comfort, especially in offices that have been operating with limited resources.

Local security officials emphasised the importance of partnerships between the private sector and security agencies, noting that such collaborations contribute to improved service delivery and community safety.

The donation comes at a time when police stations across the country continue to face resource constraints, with many relying on support from stakeholders to bridge operational gaps.

Leaders present during the event encouraged more organisations to step forward and support public institutions, particularly those at the grassroots level, where needs are often immediate and visible.

Residents in the area also welcomed the move, saying that improved working conditions for officers can translate into better service and stronger community policing.

The gesture highlights the growing role of corporate organisations in supporting local initiatives, especially in areas that directly impact public service delivery.

As Karai Police Station integrates the new furniture into its operations, there is renewed optimism that such support will contribute to improved efficiency and morale among officers.
