Renowned Kenyan radio personality Edward Kwach has passed away at the age of 44 following a battle with meningitis. His death was confirmed by his family in a statement released on Monday, April 29.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved son and brother, Carey, that occurred last night, April 28, 2025, while receiving treatment for meningitis,” the statement reads in part. “Carey touched the lives of many through his voice and presence on the airwaves, becoming a trusted and familiar companion to listeners across the country.”

Kwach was a trailblazer in Kenya’s radio scene, known for his captivating voice, humor, and ability to connect with audiences. He rose to prominence in the early 2000s, working at Capital FM, Kiss 100, Nation FM, and XFM.
