The High Court in Nairobi is set to deliver its judgment today in the high-profile case surrounding the 2013 murder of former Juja MP, George Thuo.
Thuo tragically died on November 17th, 2013, after a night out in Thika, allegedly from poisoning.
Six individuals stand accused: Paul Wainaina Boiyo (owner of the restaurant Thuo visited), Christopher Lumbasio Andika (a friend of Thuo), Andrew Karanja Wainaina, Samuel Kuria Ngugi, Esther Ndinda Mulinge (waitress who allegedly served Thuo), and Ruth Vanessa Irungu (woman who bought Thuo a beer).
The prosecution presented its case through 30 witnesses and ten exhibits.
Investigations revealed Thuo’s death was likely caused by “haemorrhagic gastroenteritis acute due to suspected chemical poisoning.”
The case took a significant turn in January 2023 when the court ruled the prosecution had established a case to answer.
Despite denying the charges, the six suspects now face a potential ruling today from Justice Roselyn Korir at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi.
