Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba exposes alleged voter bribery and intimidation campaign targeting constituency development projects

Githunguri MP, Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba, has accused political opponents of attempting to undermine her leadership through intimidation, bribery, and interference in her constituency’s development projects.

In a public statement, Wamuchomba alleged that funds meant for key projects, including Ruiru Dam 2 and the Technical Training Institute (TTI), were diverted. She added that stalled roads and markets remain incomplete and that she was removed from strategic committees.

Wamuchomba claims that opponents are using clergy, local chiefs, and elders to manipulate voters with weekly cash handouts of Ksh2,000 each.

“The people have made up their minds,” she said. “You cannot bribe, intimidate, or lie to us. This is a one-term revolution.”

The MP emphasized that despite attempts to disrupt development and weaken her influence, her constituents remain committed to supporting her agenda, which focuses on transparency, development, and empowerment of local residents.

She warned that efforts to manipulate voters through churches and village networks will not succeed, reaffirming her commitment to completing ongoing projects and protecting community interests.
