Following the havoc caused by heavy rains in Kiambu County, Kiambu County Government have initiated efforts to repair the roads severely affected by the downpour.
The heavy rains had left many roads in a dire state, making commuting challenging for residents. However, the Kiambu County Government has swiftly responded to the situation by launching a road rehabilitation program aimed at restoring accessibility and safety in all the 60 wards within the county.
To implement the plan, the county administration led by Governor Kimani Wamatangi, has purchased and deployed graders, rollers and trucks in all the 60 wards within the county.
Work crews have been deployed to the worst-hit areas, armed with the necessary equipment and materials to begin the repair work. The rehabilitation process will prioritize roads that have been rendered impassable or severely damaged, ensuring that vital transportation routes are swiftly restored.
In addition to repairing the existing infrastructure, the county government is also focusing on reinforcing the roads to withstand future weather challenges.
