Kabete Municipal Board completes intensive training to strengthen governance, planning and service delivery in Kiambu County

The Kabete Municipal Board has concluded a three-day capacity-building programme aimed at strengthening governance, leadership and effective municipal management in Kiambu County.

The training, which began on Thursday, January 15, brought together Board members for interactive sessions focused on key areas including project management, physical and land use planning, monitoring and evaluation, revenue mobilisation, accountability, human resource management, and private sector engagement.

The sessions were facilitated by experienced trainers led by Ms Jacinta Michuki of Tehilla Ltd, Dr Macmillan Kairu, Chief Executive Officer of Lenmac Leadership Institute, and Mr Jason Wekesa, a Monitoring and Evaluation specialist from the State Department for Housing and Urban Development.

Additional technical insights were provided by Eng. P.K. Njenga, Ms Eunice Kagwa from the Human Resource department, and Planner Eric Matata from the Municipal Administration.

County officials said the programme has enhanced the Board’s capacity to make informed decisions, improve oversight, and deliver better services to residents, as Kiambu County continues to strengthen municipal governance and accountability.
