Turitu–Ndumberi bridge project takes shape

Residents of Kiambu Town Constituency are set to benefit from improved transport and accessibility following steady progress in the construction of a key bridge linking Turitu, Riara Catholic, and Ndumberi Road.

The project, spearheaded by area Member of Parliament Machua Waithaka, is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at easing movement within the constituency and opening up the area for economic growth. Once complete, the bridge is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve safety, and enhance connectivity for residents, businesses, and public service providers.

For years, residents in the Turitu–Ndumberi corridor have faced challenges accessing reliable road networks, especially during rainy seasons when sections became impassable. The new bridge is designed to address these challenges by providing a durable and all-weather crossing point, ensuring consistent movement of people and goods.

According to the MP, the ongoing works mark a major milestone in delivering on development promises made to the electorate. He noted that infrastructure development remains a key pillar in improving livelihoods and supporting local economies.

The bridge is also expected to play a crucial role in enhancing access to essential services, including schools, health facilities, and markets. Traders and farmers in the area are among those likely to benefit, as improved roads will make it easier to transport produce and access wider markets.

Local residents have welcomed the project, expressing optimism that it will transform daily life in the area. Many say the improved road network will not only ease transport challenges but also attract investment and boost property value in the surrounding areas.

Beyond easing congestion and improving mobility, the project reflects a broader push by leaders in Kiambu to invest in sustainable infrastructure that supports long-term development. By linking key routes within the constituency, the bridge is expected to integrate communities more effectively and support social and economic activities.

As construction continues, leaders have reiterated their commitment to ensuring quality and timely completion of the project. The initiative forms part of a wider development agenda aimed at upgrading roads, improving drainage systems, and enhancing overall infrastructure across Kiambu County.

With the bridge steadily taking shape, residents now look forward to a more connected and accessible future, where movement is easier and opportunities are more within reach.
