Mungai Chengecha classrooms completed in Kiambu Town

Learners at Mungai Chengecha Primary School in Kiambu Town Constituency are set to benefit from improved learning conditions following the completion of six new classrooms.

The project, spearheaded by Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka, is part of ongoing efforts to expand education infrastructure and address congestion in public schools within the constituency.

According to the MP, the newly constructed classrooms have been fitted with tiled floors to enhance durability and provide a more conducive environment for learning. He noted that the improvements are aimed at ensuring pupils have access to safe, clean and well-maintained facilities.

“We have successfully delivered six classrooms at Mungai Chengecha Primary. This will go a long way in reducing overcrowding and giving our learners enough space to study comfortably,” he said.

For years, many public schools in Kiambu have faced challenges related to overcrowding, with some learners forced to share limited space, affecting concentration and overall academic performance.

The additional classrooms are expected to ease this pressure, allowing for better class organisation and improved teacher-student interaction.

Parents and teachers at the school have welcomed the development, saying it will significantly improve the learning experience. They noted that a conducive environment plays a key role in boosting morale among learners and enhancing performance.

Local leaders have also praised the initiative, describing it as a step in the right direction in addressing infrastructure gaps in the education sector.

The MP reaffirmed his commitment to investing in projects that directly impact the lives of residents, particularly in education, which remains a key pillar for development.

“Every child in Kiambu deserves a safe, decent and inspiring learning environment. We will continue to deliver projects that support this vision,” he added.

The completion of the classrooms is part of a broader development agenda focused on upgrading school facilities across the constituency to match the growing student population.

Education stakeholders say such investments are critical, especially as demand for quality public education continues to rise.

Residents have expressed optimism that more schools will benefit from similar projects in the future, as leaders continue to prioritise education infrastructure.

As learners settle into the new classrooms, the focus now shifts to ensuring sustained investment in education to support long-term growth and academic excellence.
