IEBC opens accreditation for voter education, observers, and media ahead of 2025/26 electoral activities

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially invited applications for accreditation of organisations interested in participating in the upcoming electoral processes as voter education providers, election observers, or media practitioners.

In a public notice released on Wednesday, the Commission called on all eligible organisations to submit applications via its online Accreditation Management System (AMS) portal, accessible through the official IEBC website.

“The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) invites applications from organisations wishing to be accredited as Voter Education Providers, Election Observers or Media Practitioners for the upcoming by-elections and other planned electoral activities in the 2025/2026 Financial Year,” the notice read in part.

The Commission has set the application deadline for Friday, 5th September 2025, at 5:00 PM, urging interested parties to ensure their submissions are timely and complete.

This call for accreditation forms part of the Commission’s preparations for various electoral events planned for the 2025/26 financial year, including anticipated by-elections. IEBC continues to prioritise transparency and inclusivity in its processes by involving independent stakeholders in key roles across the electoral cycle.

Organisations looking to participate must adhere to the IEBC’s set requirements and procedures, as outlined on the portal.

For more details and to apply, organisations are encouraged to visit the IEBC website.
