Presidential digital talent internship opens 400 ICT opportunities for Kenyan graduates in 2025 intake

The Presidential Digital Talent Internship Programme has opened 400 slots for Kenyan graduates under its 2025 cohort, offering young professionals a chance to sharpen their skills in key ICT fields.

In a notice issued Tuesday, August 26, the ICT Authority invited applications in areas such as Network and Digital Infrastructure, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design), Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics.

Applicants have until September 15, 2025, to submit applications for the one-year programme, popularly known as Digitalent, which blends private and public sector mentorship.

“The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort X Intake,” the Authority stated, adding that the programme equips participants with workplace experience, knowledge, and professional networks.

A total of 150 slots are reserved for Network and Digital Infrastructure, 100 for Software Development and AI, 50 for Information Security, 50 for Multimedia and Digital Marketing, and 50 for Data Analytics.

President William Ruto has championed the initiative as a key driver of Kenya’s digital economy, targeting to prepare ICT graduates for future jobs across various sectors.

Eligibility criteria require applicants to have graduated with First or Upper Second-Class Honours within the last two years or be awaiting graduation with proof of their expected award. Candidates must hold degrees in ICT or engineering fields such as Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Systems, or Computer Engineering, and be between 21 and 29 years old.

Applicants must also be unemployed, ready for full-time deployment across any of Kenya’s 47 counties, and must not have previously participated in a government internship.

The programme further encourages women, persons with disabilities, and graduates from arid and semi-arid regions (ASAL) to apply.

Interested candidates must submit their applications online, ensuring all required documents are uploaded, as incomplete applications will be disqualified. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for interviews.
