“Please be advised that there will be a scheduled maintenance of iCMS from Sunday, September 14, 2025, 4 am to Sunday, September 14, 2025, 12 pm. We regret any inconvenience caused,” the authority stated.
The temporary shutdown will affect all stakeholders who rely on the online platform for daily operations, including importers, exporters, and clearing agents.
Key services that will be disrupted include cargo clearance, duty payment processing, and consignment tracking. As a result, traders will not be able to submit documentation or receive customs clearance during the maintenance window.
KRA has urged users to plan their activities in advance to minimize potential delays and disruptions in trade.
The iCMS, introduced in 2019 to replace the Simba system, has become a vital tool in streamlining customs processes, enhancing transparency, and safeguarding Kenya’s borders against illicit trade.
Despite the inconvenience, the authority says the exercise is part of its continuous efforts to improve efficiency and ensure reliable service delivery in Kenya’s trade and customs environment.
