The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a five-day forecast warning of continued rainfall across several parts of the country, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Machakos, Nakuru, and Kiambu counties.
According to the forecast, rains and showers will persist from Tuesday, November 4, to Saturday, November 8, with daytime and nighttime downpours expected in most regions.
In Central Kenya, including Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka counties, residents should expect rainfall through the week, with occasional sunny intervals on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Temperatures will range between 9°C and 30°C.
Along the Coast, counties such as Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and Tana River are forecasted to experience frequent showers, with maximum temperatures of 32°C and minimums around 22°C.
In Western and Rift Valley regions, including Kisumu, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kericho, Nakuru, and Bomet, rains accompanied by thunderstorms are expected throughout the week, though some sunny intervals may appear midweek. Temperatures will hover between 9°C and 30°C.
Eastern and Southeastern counties Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta will experience mixed weather, with sunny conditions early in the week followed by evening and nighttime showers.
Further north, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo will receive rain for most of the week, except Thursday, when the skies will clear. Maximum temperatures will reach 38°C, while minimums will drop to 17°C.
In Turkana and Samburu, mostly sunny conditions will dominate until Friday, when scattered showers are expected.
The weatherman advised motorists and residents in flood-prone areas to exercise caution, noting that isolated flooding may occur in urban lowlands and poorly drained regions.
