In a tragic incident, Beth Muthoni, a 44-year-old single mother of two, was found brutally murdered at the Kimunyu praying shrine caves in Gatundu South.
Muthoni, who hailed from Kagumoini village in Karembu of Kiamwangi Ward, had left her home on Thursday morning for a night of fasting and prayer.
Shockingly, her lifeless body was discovered on Friday, January 17, 2025, with her head pushed and fixed between rocks deep within the cave. Muthoni’s head had been brutally struck with a blunt object, resulting in the removal of four of her upper jaw teeth.
Empty bottles containing an unknown fluid were found beside her body, suggesting that she may have been drugged before her life was taken.
Postmortem now reveals that the lady was sexually assaulted before she was brutally murdered.
The Kimunyu Cave Shrine, a popular location for continuous worship and prayer, witnessed this horrific crime amidst its bustling spiritual activities.
The local police have launched an investigation into the murder and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
