KNEC warns against fake KCSE and KJSEA exam papers circulating online

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has cautioned students, parents, and teachers against fake exam papers circulating on social media ahead of the national exams in October.

In a statement released on Friday, September 5, KNEC clarified that the alleged Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) and KCSE papers shared online are fraudulent. The council warned that engaging with fake materials undermines exam integrity and misleads candidates.

KNEC stressed that genuine sample papers and timetables are only available on its official website. The agency reminded the public that it uploaded verified KJSEA sample papers in January 2025 to help schools and learners prepare.

Further, KNEC highlighted changes in the answer sheet format, confirming that from 2025 candidates sitting for KPSEA and KJSEA will shade responses on Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheets instead of drawing lines.

The council urged vigilance, asking the public to report suspicious materials and rely solely on official communication channels.
