Delegates of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) from Kiambu County have endorsed Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua as their presidential flagbearer ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a delegates’ meeting at Destiny Gardens in Ruiru, Deputy Party Leader Cleopas Malala announced that DCP would field candidates for all elective seats nationwide. Malala insisted that political strength would be determined by numbers, noting the party’s resolve to unite the opposition.
He also dismissed the relaunch of Jubilee Party, terming it a deliberate attempt to weaken DCP’s influence in the Mt. Kenya region.
Juja MP George Koimburi accused some leaders of being used by rival parties to divide the mountain, while Serah Thiga, representing the youth wing, pledged transparent and inclusive party primaries in line with Gachagua’s directive.
