Fear and uncertainty have gripped residents of Gatanga in Murang’a County after the bodies of two unidentified men were discovered dumped in River Kiama along the Chomo–Kiriaini border, in a chilling incident that has raised fresh concerns over insecurity in the area.
The bodies were reportedly spotted early in the morning by residents who were going about their daily activities near the river before alerting authorities to the scene. The discovery quickly drew the attention of security agencies, who moved in to secure the area and begin initial investigations.
According to witnesses, the condition and positioning of the bodies suggested that they may have been dumped at the location from elsewhere, raising suspicions of foul play. Residents said the incident appeared unusual and deeply disturbing, especially given the growing fears over similar cases reported in different parts of the country.
Police officers and crime scene investigators were deployed to the scene where they retrieved the bodies and commenced preliminary procedures aimed at identifying the deceased and determining the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
