Residents of Thathii-ini area in Riabai Ward, Kiambu Town, are set to benefit from enhanced security following the commencement of preparations to install a high mast security light.
Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka confirmed that the project, popularly known as mulika mwizi, is being implemented by the National Government through the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC). Once completed, the lighting is expected to significantly improve visibility and safety along the busy corridor.
The area hosts a growing residential population and serves students from Kiambu National Polytechnic, many of whom use the road daily. Leaders say improved lighting will deter crime, enhance peace of mind and strengthen community safety.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts to improve public infrastructure and security within Kiambu Town constituency.
