Ruiru MP Simon King’ara delivers 16 new classrooms at Mwiki Primary in major education boost

Learners at Mwiki Primary School in Ruiru Constituency, Kiambu County, have a reason to celebrate following the completion of 16 new classrooms, a project spearheaded by Ruiru Member of Parliament Simon Ng’ang’a King’ara in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The development marks a major step in expanding learning space for Junior Secondary School students and improving the quality of education under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The new classrooms are part of the National Government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade school infrastructure and accommodate the growing number of learners transitioning to Junior Secondary.

MP King’ara, who has been at the forefront of championing education projects across Ruiru, said the expansion demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing a dignified and conducive environment for both teachers and learners.

“Education remains the foundation of our community’s progress. These classrooms will ensure our children learn comfortably and achieve their dreams without the limitations of space or poor facilities,” King’ara said during an inspection of the completed project.

The facility includes spacious learning areas and improved amenities aimed at supporting modern teaching and learning. Local leaders and parents have commended the MP for prioritizing education and working closely with the Ministry to address infrastructure gaps.

The Mwiki Primary School project comes at a time when many public schools in urban areas are struggling with overcrowding. With the additional classrooms, the school is expected to decongest existing spaces and enhance learning outcomes.

The project has been hailed as a model of effective collaboration between the National Government and local leadership in driving education development at the grassroots level.

“This is a clear demonstration of what can be achieved when leaders put education first,” said one community member.

The completion of the 16 classrooms stands as a milestone for Mwiki Ward and a reflection of MP King’ara’s ongoing efforts to uplift education standards across Ruiru Constituency.
